REALITY: Most used car auctions are individual sellers who know they can make more money putting their car up for auction that if they traded it in to the dealer. Plus services like CarFax make it nearly impossible to present a used car in better condition then it actually is. MYTH: Used car auctions are private and require fees to participate

REALITY: Some Auctions held by government or insurance companies are private. However there are many more free public used car auctions than there are private. For proof just look at all of the auction listings we have on our site.

MYTH: There is no way to guarantee the mechanics of a used car bought at a used car auction

REALITY: If you follow our guidelines and only deal with local sellers you can easily have a car inspected by a trusted mechanic prior to finalizing a purchase.
